2011 Frederick Festival of the Arts – its Greenest Yet
Waste Not! Frederick partnered with the Frederick Arts Council and Waste Neutral to provide the greenest festival to date! Since 2009, Waste Not! Frederick has provided volunteers to collect recyclables at the Festival of the Arts. This year, the Frederick Arts Council and Waste Not! Frederick have pooled resources to enlist the help of Waste Neutral to collect and haul away not only recyclables but also compostable material at the event.
Business Breakfast for Frederick County restaurant owners
On Saturday, May 1, 2010 WasteNot! Frederick, in conjunction with Brewer’s Alley, will be hosting a Business Breakfast for Frederick County restaurant owners, officials, grocery stores and area service providers interested in learning about saving money and expanding business opportunities through food waste composting.
Steve Simon, a partner in the Fifth Group Restaurants in Atlanta, Georgia will speak about his dumpster-free restaurants in Atlanta’s Zero Waste Zone.
